I believe that we have 7 spots left in this recruiting class is that right? Where do we go with our remaining spots?

closer to 9 spots left, and with the last commit it will be a bunch of unranked kids nobody has heard of, who is 2nd stringer

It's starting to look scary. Two more losses will probably make it look even worse.

I'd really like to see Garmon and Lohn commit, that should lift some spirits.

Garmon is announcing at a All Star game in January, i just hope they don't fill up before then and we lose him. as he is high on the Hawks, just like Smith and Ekakitie, which has me puzzled on the last recruit on the sudden offer;
he gets the offer 5 dayes before he committed

i woudn't worry about it filling up. They'll keep a spot for him if they feel like they have a legit chance. I think it will be a year where we get a few guys that are high on our list and then a few none of us know much about. I don't think we completely strike out.

Re: So how many spots left? And who do we get?

Iowa will probably get 4-5 more guys that the coaching staff has been high on and 4-5 more guys that are late offers/reaches. Probably 9 total. Look for 1-2 more WRs and 3-4 more DLs in this class. I think the fact that Iowa landed Venckus has more to do with the Hawks going after a lot of DLs than it does with them losing out on guys they were high on.

Re: So how many spots left? And who do we get?

The speculation in the Gazette, is Iowa will take 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 O-L 1-2 WR.2 DB, 1 LB, and 2 D-L with closer to 20 total;
personally i only see one more WR, as we have 2 and don't need 4 in this class nor do i see 2 more DB's, 1 maybe, the need is at D-L I could see 3 more at that position,
the O-L I look for either Kozan or Diamond, although I prefer Diamond at this point as he is Tackle and Kozan is a guard
my reasoning is this; we got Walsh and Blythe last year and people think and word is Blythe is switching to center, giving us a line of the following for the future;

LT Jordan Diamond 4*
LG Jordan Walsh 4*
C Todd Blythe 4*
RG Mitch Keppy 3*
RT Ryan Ward 4*

not to shabby; we lose 2 and as far as i know Reiff is coming back, so a lose 2 for a gain of 3 trade is good;
also that would be a line of four 4*'s and one 3* on the line
now that is the type of recruits we need on the D-L

Re: So how many spots left? And who do we get?

my wish list is as follow;

Greg Garmon 4* rb 6'2 4.4 40
Amara Darbogh 4* wr 6'2 4.4 40
Jordan Diamond 4* ot 6'6 285 lbs
Faith Ekakitie 4* de/dt 6'2 255 lbs
Aaron Curry 3* dt 6'3 275 lbs 4.9 40
Mike Shoff 3* ol/dt 6'6 295lbs 4.8 40
Greg Lambert 4* lb 6'2 230 4.6 40
Anthony Morgan 3* cb 6'1 or a QB as we need one in this class

that would give us a nice finish to this class
also this is a finish that can happen
