It makes sense it Meier but- he told Rivals he wanted to wait until Wed to make an announcement which opens up the possibility it is Kozan and someone else.

We needed that JUCO RB more than than another OL. Kozan is great addition but probably not for 2-3 years. Running back is a position of more need RIGHT NOW. Garmon has accolades but what happens if he doesn't pan out or the AIRBHG strikes? Would have been real nice to have an experienced RB start and then Garmon get some backup duties. Hill is also a freshmen and then Canzeri is 170 pounds. These guys aren't built right now for taking a beating.

Iowa is also going to have a young OL replacing a lot of starters. Mix that with freshmen RBs and could be some issues. Wegher and Robinson were freshmen, I understand but also had Stanzi at QB and DJK and McNutt at WR. Passing game could struggle next season too.

While I understand the initial reaction to say we needed Harris (juco RB) more than another OL. I guess I would take the highly recruited OL being recruited by Oregon, UM, OSU, LSU and Auburn that we will get for 4-5 years, over the juco RB being recruited by Cal and Cincy that we would get for 2 years on the field. And, considering the loss of 3 OL that logged significant playing time, Kozan would be a welcome addition.

We NEEDED 3 OLs.. we got 3 OLs. And 2 of them are 4*s. That's a win. Right there.

That's great we got them. They'll be needed in 2-3 seasons. I was just stating that running back is far more a concern of need than OL. I wasn't worried about getting recruits at OL, Iowa does it every single year and attrition isn't a problem at that position either.

We could have used both. It's not as if we decided to take Kozan over Harris.

Iowa doesn't get 4* recruits at OL every year, and if you think a JUCO RB was going to step in be the savior next year I think you were kidding yourself. I wanted him too, but he chose not to even visit Iowa, not sure what else you can do about that. Next year is going to be a struggle, period, and there is no way around that, even if we got the #1 RB recruit in the nation.
