Re: Royce White commits to Clones
No, they are not.
And nobody is predicting anything like 25 wins that I've seen...most are hoping to win more than we lose in 2010, with hopes for somewhat better things in 2011 and beyond. How is that unreasonable expectations?

Re: Royce White commits to Clones
The non conference schedule isn't out yet but I think a reasonable conference record of .5 would be reasonable and in my mind a success.

Re: Royce White commits to Clones
Iowa State isn't going .500 in conference this year. Maybe .500 for the whole season.

Re: Royce White commits to Clones
At this point, ISU goes 18-15 and makes post season (CBI, NIT). Iowa 12-20 maybe. Sorry but I love McCaffery's persona and work ethic but that aint going to win ball games. Right now ISU has loads more talent than Iowa and if Hoiberg gets some of these Iowa kids, Iowa is in HUGE trouble. ISU's current roster is much more athletic than Iowa's and if McCaffery can't bring in better talent than what ISU already has for 2011, the disparity will grow larger.

Re: Royce White commits to Clones
I see ISU with 12-15 wins this year and Iowa with 8-12. It will be a rough year.

Re: Royce White commits to Clones
Iowa loses Fuller but gains Basabe (more athleticism) in his place, gains more bodies than last year and a better system. Shouldn't that be good enough for 2 more wins? No way this team is WORSE than the worst team in history of Iowa basketball!!
ISU lost so many guys I lost count, they basically break even in body count I believe. Losing two NBA players is going to be hard to replace. White takes place of one of them but not sure anyone else has the skills, right now, to replace other. Maybe Ejim. ISU gets better because they upgrade in overall talent and Big 12 is a little weaker. I see a 5 game improvement from past season."Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"

Re: Royce White commits to Clones
I haven't read or heard any Clone fans talking 25 wins, FWIW.

Bohnenkamp's says it's a gamble (I agree):

Re: Royce White commits to Clones
2 things out of this that I like about White; "thought about just going pro"...and he's excited about the chance for a "college basketball career", no mention of great school, education, or any of that garbage, just a baller. that's what you need in cbball these days to get above mid-low table in your conference. As soon as i c the words, "works hard", "effort guy", "great team guy", "solid in the classroom and on the court" etc. I just laugh. that's loser talk in 2010 college basketball.

Win at all costs in Ames. White is a low life and will not make it. He has been a head case up here...Old FH is showing his true colors quickly. Best of luck, he needs it!
