Royce Rolled
The NCAA tells Royce White that he must wait another year to play at ISU. This is the first indication that FH's risky experiment might be starting to blow up.
While other people haven't seen a connection between Iowa and ISU with respect to future success, I have thought it would be difficult for Iowa to attract in-state recruits if ISU was having significantly more success.

I agree with the two ISU posters. This was expected. The test of whether or not the experiment with White will work will take place over the next 12 months. If he stays out of trouble off the court, he will then be able to do work on the court.

Ya this doesn't appear to be something blowing up...if anything I would think that this is the opposite and was part of the plan all along. If somehow the NCAA would let him play great, worth a shot. But if not he has two other transfers to sit out the year with...White wants to get to the league as soon as possible that is the only reason they even went for this.

Re: Royce Rolled
I think this is a great point. It's going to be much easier for White to stay out of trouble since he has Babb, Allen and Booker to practice with and hang out with when the team is traveling. There's no question Iowa St. will have far and away the best scout team in the nation this season. Getting to go up against these transfers in practice everyday is really going to benefit the other guys on the team too.

Re: Royce Rolled
OP, how the hell do you draw "the first signs of blowing up" from the NCAA upholding rules regarding transfering? it is like some of you want ISU to fail so badly that you will go to matt perrault like extents of connecting even the most minoot occurences with a doomsday scenario.
seriously, get a grip.
if anything this bodes well for ISU. Assuming Royce keeps himself on the straight and narrow for the next 12 months, ISU fields an NCAA tournament caliber team that has had a year+ to develop chemistry heading into 2011-12.

Re: Royce Rolled
It was always a long shot. They have some good talent next year if RW sticks around and stays out of trouble though.

Have to agree with those who've said this wasn't unexpected...even if Fred thought there was a "good chance" that White could play this season, he'd probably tell you that "good chance" equaled 50/50.

Re: Royce Rolled
Totally expected. If he leaves the team after breaking the law I will consider it "blowing up" and not before. If he leaves the team to pursue a pro career that was always a possibility. Really, White is the only guy on ISU's team I consider to be a "risky" move dispite all the consternation over the number of transfers.
