There are a lot of ISU fans penciling Booker in for next season but IMO Godfrey starts over him. Give him another offseason and his offense and size will be as good as Booker's.

Not a chance. Godfrey is about 6'5 and has no offensive skills. Booker has size, skills, and athleticism over him and he will start over Godfrey. I like Godfrey's attitude though

They are the tallest midget that we have played.

Long term? We can only let it play out to see which approach works better.
But again, I cannot remember many Big Ten schools ever getting transfers from the Big 12...but Fred can easily grab Allen,White and Babb from Big Ten schools...confident in their academics....just not a two way street for Fran.
McDermott left nothing for them. Unless you consider Diante G. something. DG is a panzi. Fred has little to work with until next year. If Fred can get past about 17 wins with this group he is amazing.

In the meantime, anyone trying to match Fred's resume against Fran's just looks like a total fool.
Obviously it is too early to tell which coach is better, but how is that resume looking right now after Long Beach State and South Dakota State? Resume isn't everything.

Once Fran stops losing those games you can get back to me.

You get back to us when the Cyclones

    A. Play a game on the road.
    B. Play a team not in the NAIA.

Well we have played a lot of DII teams, and haven't lost. In fact we have beaten the lesser teams quite handily. We beat two teams picked to go to the NCAA tourney. (Northern Arizona & Creighton). Creighton was a neutral court. This is all more than Iowa can say so far.

That being said, I will CERTAINLY be sure to get back to you Wednesday night after we beat UNI.

LMAO at clones who think that "all the pieces are there"
We have a JUCO coming in and two freshman coming in at PG. This along with DeMarcus Phillips being a possibility as he is basically a combo guard. I'm not worried with all of our guard experience coming back. We don't run a complicated offense.

two days is too long of notice on this, he'll surely have a laundry list of 7 or 8 new excuses thought up by then!

we're only six games in, but fred is 6-0 while fran is 3-3 after taking over programs that were both in really bad shape with not a lot to work with. the level of competition has been comparable thus far. sorry for those of you cyclone detractors that were holding out for hoiberg not to know how to coach. It looks like more disappointment for you.

Godfrey is not 6'5", and if Booker has offensive skills he got them in the 6 months since he left Southern because he sure didn't have them there.

After the end of last year and seeing who was coming back, I would definitely believe you if you told me Iowa would start out 6-0 and ISU 3-3. ISU only had 3 schollys back and a brand new coach with no experience. So far, Fred is exceeding expectations, but its way too early to tell anything. Let's see how ISU does against UNI, Cal, and Iowa first.
