I myself think ISU keeps the game closer than the previous two years but will probably lose by 10-13 points still. The biggest reason is ISU's offense will not be clicking by the time they have to play against Iowa's defense.

I think you're right about it being closer (I actually think it will be < 10 points), and I also think you're right about Iowa winning. Here's some reasoning that leads me to think this:
1. Your defense is going to be pretty decent next year, and I think they'll keep you in most of your games.
2. Iowa's O may be okay next year, but at this point in the season we'll basically be breaking in a new QB and ISU is going to do everything it can to put the game on his shoulders. As goes the Mandenberg, so goes Iowa in this game.
3. Games at Jack Trice, which will help close the overall talent gap.
4. Field position could really, really favor ISU. We're breaking in a new punter, and your punter is solid. Our kickoff coverage was horrible last year, so I don't have much trust in them. Idk anything about your kickoffs or return game, but if they're merely average that gives you an advantage. Field goals should favor Iowa slightly but field position should favor ISU big. Also, KF will stubbornly stick to trying to win FP even though our special teams may suck.
Things in Iowa's favor:
5. Overall talent and especially depth favor Iowa fairly big.
6. I think your defensive front 7 is pretty good, but I think they're better at rushing the QB than defending the run. If Iowa's O'line can get some push, Coker is going to be a beast.
7. Even though I think Iowa's D will be merely average, I have no faith whatsoever, I mean no faith at allllll, in your offense if Tiller is the QB. And I think that he will be at this point in the season.
I think this adds up to a low-scoring game but I think Iowa's ability to grind out a few drives with Coker carrying the load will make the difference. I'll say 13-6 final. The one thing I'm really worried about is that in a close game, turnovers will be crucial. If ISU can score a defensive or special teams TD (of God forbid multiple scores) I think we could actually lose.
