Would you want a rival to face the death penalty?

If Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, etc was facing Miami-like allegations and national pundits and sportswriters were talking death penalty for that school, where that school's program would essentially cease to exist, would you wish the death penalty on your rival? Or do you enjoy having a rivalry with that school where you would enjoy the embarrassment but would like to continue with a competitive rivalry? Conversely if there are posters (ISU posters) here from other schools and Iowa was facing these allegations would you want Iowa to receive the death penalty?

I enjoy the rivalry. I don't wish this on any school. Miami deserves it if all is true, but I don't want any school to get the penalty because that means they deserve it and they deeply tarnish college football and the B10.

Hell yes. Absolutely hilarious if Bart and Wisconsin got the death penalty.

From a sports perspective ISU would benefit greatly over time, but it's not something I'd personally want as sports are just a portion of what a school is about.

I wouldn't wish the death penalty on any school. I would much rather see Iowa beat them. Much more gratifying.

Hey everyone lets not forget the Purdue is our rival now...Wouldnt really care if Minny or ISU got the death penalty I dont look forward to those games for any reason. On the other hand Penn State, Michigan, MSU, Wiscy and OSU those games I would miss.

It would take an awful lot for me to wish the death penalty on any program.

The death penalty will kill not only the football team but the entire athletic department would be in serious trouble because football pays most of the bills.

At the same time it wouldn't bother me if Wisconsin got some scholarships taken away.

I would be okay with Illinois receiving the death penalty.

Great point. Hypothetically if Purdue did get the death penalty, would the Big Ten assign us a new protected rival? I realize it would be hard for them to find another program as hated as Purdue, but there might be one out there.

After being told that Purdue is our rival, I dont think I could hate them anymore. Everything they do now just pisses me off. I hate that stupid P on their helmet. No one could take that hate away....unless the B1G told us we had a new rival in that case Purdue wouldnt really matter.

Re: Would you want a rival to face the death penalty?

I have no doubt that if this much evidence piled up against ISU, that the death penalty would come whether people wanted it or not. The NCAA would get to say they are taking a tough stance, when really they were only killing a team that didn't matter in their money making schemes.

Miami deserves the death penalty. They will not get it. The NCAA is toothless against the big boys, and the paying of college players won't solve it either. Delaney only wants to do it because his conference can afford it and it will attract better talent, which improvees the product on the field and the overall value of his conference. It is all about making more money. The purity of college football is dead, and at this point it is going to drive me to the NFL. At least everyone knows what they are about, and there is no blatant hypocrisy being thrown out at every press conference.

WTF are you talking about again?

If the NCAA allowed players to be paid they wouldn't allow it in only the Big Ten.

Also the players wouldn't be getting multi-million dollar payments to come to a school either, there would be reasonable limits set by the NCAA that each conference or school could afford.

Where have you been? It's a conference decision

Anyways, paying players would be the worst thing that has happened to college athletics....EVER. They already get books, tuition, and food paid for. Let's not forget the $500 a month check as well (plenty of money for a college kid). These kids aren't starving and they get plenty of clothes/shoes from the school for being athletes.
