To funny MSU fan

Last one for the night, (didnt I say that the last one?)
I am just going to copy and paste.

" Wisconsin will be a great test. Somebody at the top of the thread was saying they can roll up the score but they did that against weak teams. I see this as more of a battle of the titans kind of game.

PSU @PSU is always difficult no matter how good you are or how bad PSU is. (and of course, they fire up for every game because every season for the last 20 years or so has been Jo Pa's last season)

OSU - will be very good at some point in the year; just hoping it's after they play us. They had a big shakeup, but they are loaded with talent.

Iowa was a bit of a Jeckle and Hyde team last year - but they can play so it could be a wildcard loss if you catch them on the wrong day.

MSU is going to be a very good team this year - but I'm thinking that it will be hard to win in Lincoln. We might bring it though because State is a good team on the rise and could have a breakout season if things fall into place."

Enjoy my cubs, tear it up.

Re: To funny MSU fan

Sorry, but I see nothing wrong with that post besides the fact that you cyber-trolled their board and copied and pasted it on this one. What do you expect? MSU went 11-2 last season and are ranked top 20 this year, so their fans should be excited about the future.

* They DID beat Wisconsin last year and it was a physical game, therefore besides the corny "battle of the titans" metaphor I see nothing outlandish about what he wrote.

* PSU and OSU reference was fair.

* Iowa was a Jeckle and Hyde team last year, period.

* It will be difficult to win in Lincoln.

Just another optimistic yet realistic, opposing fan posting about their team on THEIR board. Nothing to see...

Sounds like a lot of our thoughts about Iowa

I was really hoping to "tear" into this but I can't. I can't say I have the same enthusiasm for MSU as he does, but I'm not going to argue any of his points either.

Really, the Hawks have become a "wildcard loss" to MSU? Whisky only runs up the score on bad teams? Better call NU (70-23), Mich (48-28), Ind (83-20) and many other conf games that were 30 or 40 something to teens or low 20's. And like goia said, he seems to be awful high on them given they have had one good season and 2 ok seasons in the last 10 years or better. I will say he worded his thoughts on his team well, he never really over stated anything and pretty much was just being optimistic, as someone said.
I really did find the bit about Jo Pa funny.

Nothing wrong with saying Iowa could become a "wildcard" loss. It is true they had a Jeckyll and Hyde type of season last year and nobody knew what team was going to show up week to week.

Also the teams Wisconsin ran the score up on weren't bad but teams with bad defenses.

Really I don't see anything wrong with that post either.

Re: To funny MSU fan

Mich St should be pretty solid this year. They prob have the best skill positions in the BIG. They are young on the O-line & D-line but are getting depth at those positions & Dantonio coaches a lot like KF so they should be in every game. They should always have a solid defense every year. With Kurt Cousins & a solid D, they should contend this year again & don't be surprised if they are in the BIG championship game at the end of the year, I won't be. They are on the rise & are becoming a consistent team every year. They mimic Iowa & I think Dantonio's goal is to mimic KF & Iowa. He always references Iowa when asked questions, it seems.

I think the OP was pretty solid, myself.

Re: To funny MSU fan

I have to imagine that MSU fans really, really want to beat Iowa this year. 2 years ago we crushed them with McNutt's TD as time expired. Last year we simply crushed them.

I personally think MSU is way overrated. They lost Greg Jones and 2 of their top WR's, and are young on both lines. They played 3 good teams last year. They did beat Wisconsin, but that was before Wisconsin turned on "Rambo" mode, and went nuts running up the score on teams. Iowa and Alabama embarassed them. Their schedule is not nearly as friendly this year, and I will be surprised if they win more than 8 games.

Good points about the schedule. Yea. They were not even competitive with Alabama.
