Post in this thread and make yourself a liar!

Go ahead, post that the Iowa/ISU game isn't really a rivalry and doesn't matter. I will go and collect threads and posts from this forum to show otherwise, since nearly every thread/post is related to this rivlary.

It's clearly a rivalry. I wonder, though, as compared to other in-state rivalries involving BCS schools and traditional rivalries (e.g. OU vs. Texas), if there are any others where there is such a wide difference in money, facilities, recruiting based, recruiting rankings, fan support (in terms of pure numbers) as this? I think that is what is most frustrating about the loss.

One win over tOSU is far better than 5 wins over ISU.

Iowa State fans show a lot of class, style, and grace after a victory.

It's a rivalry. It's just that ISU is out of their minds crazy about it, most Hawk fans are meh..........
I mean, we've got bigger fish to fry like Nebraska and a conference championship game, hopefully.
Oh, and by posting in your own thread you yourself have, by definition, become a liar.

Given the quantity of words written and said, both before and after the game, Hawk fans aren't just "meh" about it. No other game during the season, with exception of perhaps a bowl game - which is likely thanks to the prolonged period between the end of the conference season and the bowl - or conference championship game (TBD), will generate this much chatter.

Apparently Paul Rhoads feels different. Said on the postgame this was by far his biggest win at Iowa State.

Try and dig up stuff from last year's losses to AZ, WI, NW, OSU, and MN last year. Similar meltdowns. Some of those are rivalries some are not. Meltdowns don't necessarily indicate a rivalry.

Your argument doesn't support your conclusion, but the conclusion is correct nonetheless. This is a rivalry for other reasons.

Whoa, a home win vs. an unranked opponent? PR should retract that statement.

I agree....the meltdown going on here is because the better program (Iowa) lost to a horrible program (Iowa State). We should never lose to them but we do often lately. This equals meltdown.

I honestly don't care about this game at all. Its non conf so it can only hurt Iowa, historically ISU takes it from Iowa every year, no Iowa can't win every year its almost impossible to win every year. But when the clowns do win one they act like they won the super bowl and start harassing hawk fans. I can only speak for myself but in past games where Iowa has won by 20+ points I would be happy for the win but I dont run around and mock or act like a 9 year old. Have some class and enjoy the win, the clowns definatly wanted it more this year. As for next years game, I will still not care as it doesnt matter.

True. Running the table only matters for teams with NC aspirations which clearly Iowa does not have.
