Who actually likes Nebraksa?
Idk maybe its because I live right next to it but I just despise everything about that state and the people there. Wondering if I'm the only one so feel free to electronically raise your hand up with me for all who hate Nebraska.

Re: Who actually likes Nebraksa?
Yes, their fans are arrogant but we would be too if we had won 5 national championships.
Their fans treat visiting teams very well and they are pretty classy. They know how to win with class.
Now, here are some fanbases who don't know how to win with class:
1. Iowa State
2. Michigan State
3. Minnesota
4. North_estern
5. Ohio State (pretty raunchy fans)
6. Purdue
7. Wisconsin
I'm sure there are more, but those pop into my mind quickly, based on personal experience.
Classy fanbases:
1. Michigan (by far)
2. Nebraska
3. Penn State
The programs who have won a lot over a long period of time have fans who know how to win with class and dignity and accept the losses graciously (with the exception of Ohio State; wow are they d-bags).

Re: Who actually likes Nebraksa?
I grew up in eastern Iowa and gave Nebraska about as much thought as anyone else outside the Big 10, none. Now that theyre in the Big 10 I care more, but I didnt care either way about them before that.

Re: Who actually likes Nebraksa?
I lived in Omaha for 3 years, and had empathy for friends and co-workers who were Husker homers. At that time (Coach Calhoun) they would talk about the only option, after seeing their team blown away yet again, was...well...basically, to drink. That didn't bother me too much, I can relate to die-hard fans of a team. I even offered consolation to some co-workers, while trying to contain laughter, the year they lost to the Clowns - losing to Iowa State sucks worse than anything in the world.
But I really got tired of the whole culture eventually, and don't miss the self-congratulating and overhype heard on some of the local media, that became disgusting. I remember getting into discussions about the outcome of an Iowa/Nebraska matchup, which seemed so far off from ever happening at the time. If Iowa loses to Nebraska, I will feel sick, honestly.

Nebraska as a state is horrible, just horrible. I would rather take an icepick to my man parts than drive I-80 west of Lincoln ever again.

Re: Who actually likes Nebraksa?
I absolutely hate Nebraska everything about it the school, fans, landscape. Growing up in Western Iowa you learn to hate Nebraska and people in Nebraska sit and talk about Iowa like theres nothing here who has ever been West of Lincoln? There is not a damn thing out there not even a fence post. I cant even stand some of my own family members who are Nebraska fans.

I never could understand Iowan's thinking like this. We have played like 5 times in the past 50 year, I never thought one way or the other about Iowa until we played, or until we went to the B1G. I just don't understand all the angst. Haters gonna hate.
You could at least spell "Nebraksa" correctly.

Yes, because Iowa's rolling corn and soybean fields are SOOOOOOOO much more asthetically pleasing than Nebraska's.

Re: Who actually likes Nebraksa?
I can't stand the Nebraska football program and their fans and as much as I don't like to admit it..... they remind me a lot of Hawk fans. Very arrogant at times, over-confident a lot of the time, living in the past frequently, some of them are really stupid (just read posts on this board for 10 minutes and you can figure that out), and they live in a boring *** state as well. Don't try to convince me that Iowa is a joy to drive through or "exciting" compared to Nebraska.

Re: Who actually likes Nebraksa?
I'm not going to say I hate the people of Nebraska, they aren't really much different from Iowans, although I have heard some high and mighty Nebraskans say they hate Iowans. It's just the Husker religion/cult that I hate. Ol' Trev Alberts even shut down UNO football to ensure that there was only one team in the state! As far as landscape, it is the same as Iowa in the eastern third, and really boring for the most part in the western two-thirds. For that matter, I think most of Iowa's landscape is pretty boring too.

Oh come now there is one view that is, almost perfect, ofcourse it's when you see Nebraska in your rear view.

This.
I have lived in Iowa and Nebraska, I have heard the same jokes from both peoples with just the punchline switched around. Both are super boring to drive. The only thing that happens is people have pride in where they are from and think there boring is a better more American type of boring. I get not liking a rival schools team and friendly rivalries, but all this "on that side of the river they are twisted godless mutants that just eat babies and farm" Any one from outside the two states couldn't tell an Iowan from a Nebraskan. Wanting to win at sports is understandable but hating the fiber of the other guys being? Look in a mirror.

Except that it seems that Nebraskans either 1) are more tolerant or 2) have thicker skin.

Yeah, I don't agree with what was done, thought it was a stupid move, but I don't recall UNO stealing any precious recruits from UNL.
