In the split seconds between the play and my post I thought of that, but after being down so much and having momentum, you just have to let the chips fall where they may and not muddy the waters with inane times out!

Ha...Kirk might be saying that Jon but at least Brett has the balls to try and win a game. And I think there are a lot of Hawk fans that would rather lose this way too.

Bilemas 2nd TO was indefensible. MSU was approaching midfield (25 yards to FG range) with 30 seconds left. It was 3rd and 8. If you stop them at best, you get the ball back at the 20 yard line with 20 seconds left. If don't stop them there at midfield, with 2 TOs, 25 seconds, and needing 15 yards to attempt a fg to beat you. The TO was utterly stupid. It was playing to get beat, and they got what they deserved.

How is it playing to get beat? You say "at best" they'd get the ball on their own 20...I'd say at best they block the punt (assuming they get the stop on 3rd down...which btw, the LT for MSU moved early and it should have been 3rd and 13, but I digress) and take over in MSU territory.

Even if they go after the punt and don't get it (again assuming a block), the punter still might rush the kick, shank it, and give you a chance to move the ball.

This. I was shocked that he called that TO. Had nothing to do with being conservative, it had everything to do with being smart. MSU clearly looked like they were willing to gamble in OT.
