Bowls don't usually like rematches. Plus an all Iowa bowl would not draw many eyes to TV sets.

True, but the only bowl this could be a possibility is the Texas Bowl in Houston as the Insight is probably out of play so I'm not sure what type of ratings the Texas Bowl draws, but I would bet well over 100,000 Iowans would make that trip and the impact on the Houston economy could offset any lower TV ratings this game would draw.

Plus this game would probably sell out in about 2 hours and probably be the 1st sell out they have had.

So you would have 60,000 or so people at the stadium plus maybe 1.5 million watch it in Iowa and thats it. Not going to happen.

You think 25,000-30,000 people would travel to Houston and not go to the game. Crazy.

Re: Any chance of an Iowa v ISU bowl game?

The only way I could see it happening is if Houston made it to a BCS game and Texas Tech becomes bowl eligible. If that happened, C-USA might not have enough teams for all their bowl games and Iowa State might be the #9 choice of Big XII teams. If C-USA doesn't enough teams for all their bowl games, the TicketCity Bowl picks a Big XII team in the #8 spot (or #9 if the Big XII gets 2 BCS teams).

If all that happens, then I could see the TicketCity choosing Iowa as well and hosting a rematch.

Keep in mind that the TicketCity is at the same time as the Outback and Gator Bowls and is on ESPNU, so I don't know how much TV ratings affect their team selection. I imagine people in seats is their overwhelming concern.

TV is waaaaaaaaaaaaay down the line of importance to a second tier bowl game.

Maybe even non existant.

You're forgetting the 40K to 50K that would probably go without tickets as well. It would be a huge impact on the local economy but I do agree and it probably won't happen but I also don't think it has a 0% possibility of happening either.

40K-50K would not go to Houston if they werent going to the game. It is a down year for the Hawks and ISU would do well just to get half the stadium filled with their fans let alone bring an additional 20K.

Neither Iowa or ISU is going to draw much of a TV audience. Regardless of who they play or each other.

LOL. I think you are forgetting how many "Iowa fans" are really just banwagoners. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those people show up and root for the clones.

The clowns don't have bandwagon fans, they are too far down the football program success list to draw the interest of bandwagoneers.

BTW, congratulations on your 1-56-2 record against top 6 rated teams. Keep the trend going and in another 100 years you may draw your first bandwagon fan.

In the meantime you can continue to be proud of the fact that only almuni would associate themselves with your football program.
