Nebby boards want Mike Stoops as DC

Several posts over there want Bo to axe brother Carl and hire Mike Stoops as DC. Could such interest in Stoops force Kirk's hand a bit?

In reality, no coordinator can solve the fundamental problem of how Bo Pelini's arrogance and d-baggery creates doubt and confusion in his team, but I'd hate to lose out on the opportunity to hire another Stoops brother if its the right fit.

Nope because according to the guy on HR Stoops is already signed by Iowa.

yeah, like Bo would fire his brother, who is basically running the D he wants, for some other guy who probably would want to do things differently.

proof that insanity exists in every fanbase. you think Kirk is loyal to his coaches? well, imagine if they were his family too.

This.
Bo would fire Carl at about the same time that Kirk would fire KOK.

Anybody who wants Mike Stoops will probably have to outbid his own brother Bob for his services.

No way Bob is going to let Oklahoma's defensive performance this season go without having some heads roll.

Why would we want a defensive coordinator that had awful defenses??

no, do yours. I don't care what the numbers say...he was not all that successful in a very weak conference.

I think we could do better, too.

It's no secret I don't like the Huskers, but in reality your team is underachieving with Bo at the helm. I just don't see how a coach can be so undisciplined on the sidelines but expect his players to be disciplined on the field of play.

The kids look so hesitant, probably afraid to make a mistake for fear of getting lava on them from Mount Pelini. Bo and Carl just act like a couple of bullies.

I unfortunately think Nebraska will win Friday, but I don't see how your team can achieve up to and beyond the level of their individual talents until a more organized coach takes the helm. I've said it before, the back to back Callahan and Pelini years are awesome for people like me who enjoy it when the Huskers lose.

Re: Nebby boards want Mike Stoops as DC

Though i dont totally disagree with you about Bo Pelini. The last time nebraska fired its head coach for a bad 9-3 season it wasnt a good thing. It doesnt help the spectical that Bo made of himself last year, but he hasnt had any problems this year. Who was Les Miles before he went to LSU, just another coach. It is sometimes a perfect storm, tell me if you would of had the 2009 team this year you would of stomped a mud hole in Ohio St and Beat Northwestern. Sometimes the right things need to happen at the right time, talent will not always bail you out. Bama looked poised to get another run and look how that turned out. And Bos players have said they enjoy his (passion) on the sideline. I cant say if that is reallly true or not but thats what they say.

He wasn't successful as a HC yes, but remember how good those Oklahoma D's were?

You also have to take into account where he was coaching. Arizona isn't exactly overloaded with talent, and many schools from both the east and west poach the best players all the time. Why would you want to play in Tucson when you have offers from California schools? Arizona hasn't had success since the mid 90's and have never been to the Rose Bowl. So they have traditionally been a doormat team for the PAC-12. I lived in AZ when they hired him and that team was BAD like really really BAD. An uphill climb to make them competitive to say the least.
