I agree, unless both programs falter. There's nothing 'rival' about two teams that go 7-5 each year. This game was placed at the end for a reason. Let's hope each year they both have something to play for.

Hearing that fans on both sides were pretty cordial in Lincoln... thats the sign of a non-rivalry. I see fans of both sides treated horribly in Ames and Iowa City. Rivalry.

iowa fans want this to be a rivalry badly. Nebraska fans, not so much. nebbie fan feels Iowa is below them and that they should be rivals with more traditional and "elite programs" (tOSU, Michigan, PSU). Im not trying to insult Iowa here, that's just how Husker fan thinks. just ask em

I watched the Hawks play Nebbie, and PSU finish with Wisky.

Am I the only one that wishes we were finishing with Wisky, and that Nebbie and PSU would be better off playing the day after T-Day every year as rivals?

Nebraska just carries so much more weight than Minny and Purdue, it blows all of the other rivalries away easily. The "Tigerhawk" clashing with the "N" next year at Kinnick...can't wait!!!

Well Minnesota just beat us twice in a row. The only way that wont be a rival is if we keep losing to them.

You might wan't to tailor your replies to make it NOT so obvious the Iowa-Nebraska rivalry potential bugs the He!!l out of you. Even though I only talked to two Nebraska fans and they see HUGE potential. Lemme ask you this question . Why oh why didn't the clowns ever play nebraska on Black Friday and Why was there never a trophy? Probably becuase your original reply applied to the CLowns and not Iowa. You won't convince me that you are not green with envy over the FIRST year treatment the Networks and both schools are giving this rivalry. A few spoiler games in this new rivalry series and it explodes into a national rivalry.

This doesn't exactly scream Bedlam, or Back Yard Brawl does it?
When you haven't played each other in some 20 years, you don't randomly say hey.. Iowa and Nebraska, you guys are now rivals. It just doesn't work tha way.
