ISU to Pinstripe Bowl...fans ticked

Although New York City would probably be a cool place to visit, doing so in the dead of winter right around New Years Eve will be harsh. Travel prices to go there are going to be outrageous and good luck to any traveling ISU fan who wants to get a hotel room anywhere in the tri-state area that weekend. I'm sure most hotels have been booked for months with people travelling there to go to Times Square. Add to that it's basically a home game for Rutgers.

Yup.

When the Big 12 lost the Humanitarian Bowl they had to find another crappy and cold location that ISU could go to.

I didn't even think about the hotel situation for NYE. That's a horrible bowl trip.

I think it would be pretty cool. I wish the Big 10 had more bowl games in interesting/destination cities. San Francisco, NYC, Southern California, heck even Seattle. The museums, restaurants, history are all good in these places. Great for a three-four day get-a-way with a hawkeye game mixed in.

Jacksonville, Orlando, Phoenix, are just blah cities. It's not even that warm, making the beach uncomfortable. Nothing great culturally. Plus its generally cheaper to fly to major cities than places like Jacksonville.

I can see that to some degree but New York is a different beast during NYE. Travel expenses to go there are going to be off the charts and like the OP mentioned, given the fact they have less than a month to plan the trip hotel rooms in that city are going to be in very short supply. Unless you want to stay in the ghetto or 60 miles away from the city.

Ill agree with Jacksonville. Not really thrilled with Houston either. Orlando can get pretty warm in December.

Didnt say it wasn't, but it is one of the few places in the country that average temp is 67 degrees in late December.

I know you are trolling, but I would venture to guess you actually believe that.

I feel like we make progress, and a small bromance for you starts to form. then you post something like this, and it breaks my heart. it's like you're paying hard to get vin.

I'm betting you havent seen more than a highlight of rutgers football this year and this is a completely blind prediction based solely on your dislike for ISU.

Rutgers finished middle of the pack in the worst BCS conference in the country. The only common opponent ISU and Rutgers played during the year (Uconn) beat Rutgers handily. ISU beat Uconn in Connecticut. Now that doesnt translate directly to "ISU should beat Rutgers because..." but it's an indicator.

In all likelihood ISU will be favored in this game. probably something along the lines of ISU -3.

Don't they still have Shreveport for that? Although Shreveport shouldn't be cold during the game, no to Iowans anyway.

Google just experienced a surge in the search "how to hook a trailer hitch to my garden tractor"
