    2012: Centennial Year for ISU!

In 1912 Iowa State won their last conference title in football, when they were co-champions of the old Missouri Valley Athletic Association.

Here's to ISU winning their second in another century or so!

Just curious, but why do you know that? I didn't even know that.

I've seen it mentioned before, but I didn't remember the exact year.

When I got curious about what ISU's "ceiling" is in the other thread and looked up their record over the past few decades, I saw on the wiki that 1912 was their last conference co-championship. The Cyclones were also co-champs in 1911.

...And one of the results of not winning anything in 100 years is being one of the biggest losers in all of college football:

Wow that is bad to have never won a big 6, big 8 or big 12 anything title in football. And I knew this was the case. And they have hardly smelled being close to a title.

The fact that the Hawks have averaged a big 10 title about once a decade, even with the one time dominance of Mich and OSU, says the Hawks have overachieved and done a tremendous job.

You are sad, sad people. Do you think posts like this will somehow diminish my fandom? Or is it just to make you feel better for losing to us every couple of years?

I thought the company line was that you didn't care about us.

Hawkeye fans and Iowa grads are very altruistic people. On some level...we're reaching out to you...hoping we can help you...offering you a better tomorrow.

But on the road to recovery, you have to take the first step yourself. Nobody can do it for you.

Cool we haven't won a conference title in 100 years. Grass is green and water is wet. I am not sure the point of this thread. We all know ISU has basically sucked pond water in football its not like Iowa is setting the world on fire either with all their conference titles. Jebus who cares.
It gets a little sticky below my waistline.

The term "Iowa grads" is an oxymoron. None of us attended college, remember?
