In a game between the 1987 Iowa team and 2000 ISU, Marcus Fizer might have been the best player on the floor, but I think Iowa had a better overall starting 5 (all of them were drafted).

Iowa most certainly would have been the far deeper team.

In the end, I think Iowa would have worn out ISU, although it would have been a good game.

Then again, I'm biased.
I think this is a fair assessment. The Big 10 that year was AWESOME.

I would echo those stating Tinsley would probably be the single best player on the court but imo you're exactly right. I would hope it would be close but I could see the '87 Hawks pulling away mid-second half. They were ****ing good.

could somebody get the starting 5s and rosters for the 2 teams and then we can compare position to position and figure out who would have the advantage.

i am not sure isu is better at a single spot. tinsley maybe but bj was a stud. and even though others had better careers after college my father say marble was the best player at iowa he ever saw. i have to go iowa. isu was solid but fizer is undersized and tinsley would be up against one of the smartest pgs you can find and the rest i think iow is ahead at too.

Not disagreeing with you, but one thing to remember, though, is that BJ, Roy and Eddie were sophs this year, so they should be judged as such. I don't have their numbers in front of me, though, so I can't say what types of years they had compared to ISU's players.
