So....... We kicked this around last year, and nobody wanted to step up and organize, but I thought I'd float it out there again, especially in light of this...

I would be fine with a golf tourney, if a few folks wanted to pitch in to help handle the logistics, etc

I think with a LITTLE support from the site (read JD) we could get this done. We will still need a person willing to handle the logistics as JD said. That means securing the venue, organizing the course, prizes etc. IIRC some people expressed experience in this area last year.

My initial thought is it would be awesome if we could get CyFan involved and make it a HN v CyFan challenge. We'd limit it to xxx amount of groups, and everything would be flighted, but there would also be some bragging rights involved, maybe something even as silly as a bragging rights sticky from JD or CWilliams that would go on the winning teams respective board.

In terms of set up I think it should be held in DM to keep at as central to the state as possible. I also think people should be limited to two man teams which will be randomly combined into foresomes. That would make it easier for singles to participate in that they only have to be matched to one other single player to be fit into a team. Each hole would then fit one HN foursome with a Cyfan foursome.

Feel free to discuss this here, and understand we'd need someone to step up and facilitate this preferably from the DM area. IIRC there was plenty of interest here, just no one willing to step up and help put it on.

I just thought adding them would add a nice competive twist and would help guarantee we get enough numbers to pull this off.

Now were eatin good in the neighborhood! there are like 10 Applebee's in Des Moines. Possibly the most Applebee's per capita for cities in the 100k-200k division. I'm thinking play at Blank and go to the Airport Applebee's, its pretty classy. That would be like, the best day of the summer for me.
