Just got Threat notification

Have not ascertained any threat while using Chrome and Firefox.

My guess is its IE users. Not sure why people still use IE unless they have to at work given all the vulnerabilities...that said, want to find out what this is.

When these happen, please try to take a screen shot which also captures the ads..and is it just on message boards?

I did a full system scan and it said "false alert trojan virus."

It did say it removed the virus, but the virus had already trashed my computer.

The virus you describe is not generally one that goes in and trashes a computer..its something that tries to get people to believe they need to buy something to remove the virus, and is aimed at harvesting credit card data.

That's what I thought, too.

At any rate, I cannot get my computer to work, and I have "critical errors"...reading drives, writing to drives, etc.

If the infected PC wont allow you to download it just use your work PC and download it on to a flash drive and load it on the infected machine.

I'd probably read that Link Jon posted first though.
