Doug Schwab speech at UNI Fundraiser

I have co-worker that golfed in a UNI Fundraiser on Monday. He said that Mark Farley and Doug Schwab spoke at the event. He stated that Schwab was hilarious during his talk. Part of his talk centered around the black eye that he was sporting. His comment was "see this?--pointing to his eye. I got this from a feshman. I love that F*#$%*g guy!" Troy Dannen followed Schwab and commented to the crowd saying "You have just been exposed to the Interview with our wrestling coach. That is why I hired that guy!"

Schwab also mentioned to everyone that would be coming up to the Dome for an UNI Football game. They are going to have open wrestling practice before every home game, because "The guys will get geeked up about that!"

I think that Schwab is going to do some good things at UNI.

Good point Pin2win. I wonder if they will just have open workouts for the first few home games.....until they can officially start practice.

well that and every saturday would suck for the wrestlers because you know they aren't losing the weight they could be by wrestling in the room

ive been apart of open practices and yes you do wrestle harder but it would get old more than twice a year but you never know i guess it could be cool

Re: Doug Schwab speech at UNI Fundraiser

specially if they set up bleachers all around the mats instead of in the stands

im sure there would be plenty of cussing too for little kids to be around

Wouldn't the open practices just be in the wrestling room? Plus, it's only probably 6 practices for the whole year, i doubt weight control would really be much of an issue if it's a little cooler.

Injecting excitement into the UNI wrestling program > any wrestlers feelings about a Saturday morning open practice. Good for Coach Schwab.

i can understand if the open practices are in the wrestling room at first i thought they would maybe put the mats in the middle of the field

Yeah, no kidding. The attendance at some of the open rooms on Saturdays with Scwab this fall could be better than the attendance at some of their home duals the last couple years.
