Hammering Nebraska

It's a go Friday after some high school wrestling so seating my be limited but im sure we will pack the house and get them the attendance record. Here are my picks, JMO.

125 McD vs Nagel, McD Fall :42. This one will be quicker than most think. 6-0 Hawks
133 Ramos vs Kiley, Ramos MD 13-5. Ramos is on a mean streak we would not be surprised if he TF or pin Kiley. 10-0 Hawks
141 Marion vs Sueflohn, Marion MD 16-6. Im sure Montell has had an earful expect Sueflohn to be feeling the repercussions. 14-0
149 Kelly vs Wilbourn, Kelly Dec 7-2. Wilbourn is okay but Kelly is finding his grove and seems more solid after the Parks match. 17-0
157 Moore vs Green, Green Dec 8-6. Moore has a lot of potential k, he should win this bout, Green has a lot more mat time this year. Also Green is very quick. 17-3
165 Evans vs Kokesh, Evans Dec 9-4. Evans facing the Kokesh hype im sure it will come down to a big move as these too get slicker and slicker. 20-3
174 Lofthouse vs Koehn, Lofthouse Dec 8-4. Ethen is doing better than last year he's teetering towards the direction we want. 23-3
184 Wagner vs Ihnen, Ihnen Dec 7-5. Wagner has every possibility to win this match i hope he does. 23-6
197 Gambrall vs Nakashima, Gambrall Dec 8-3. Nakashima gets to wrestle a wanting more GG. 26-6
HWT Telford vs Lane, Telford Dec 6-4. I really think Bobby can turn him and maybe get the fall, but if not it maybe a squeaker. 29-6 Hawks

Lots of close matches I only see 2 probably losses but than again its wrestling so who knows. Thanks and please show us your picks.
Go Hawks!!

Re: Hammering Nebraska

I get video for the Iowa Womens Gymnastics team but I don't get the Iowa wrestling dual. I'm not sure if I should be happy about that or not.

Yeah I agree more with the latter breakdown. This is going to be a dogfight. NEb is good and we are set up for a hangover after last Sat.

125 McD, fall IA 6 NE 0
133 Ramos, MD IA 10 NE 0
141 Marion, Dec IA 13 NE 0
149 Kelly, Dec IA 16 NE 0
157 Green, Dec IA 16 NE 3
165 Kokesh, Dec IA 16 NE 6
174 Lofthouse, Dec IA 19 NE 6
184 Ihnen, MD IA 19 NE 10
197 Gambrall, Dec IA 22 NE 10
HWT Telford, Dec IA 25 NE 10

Should be some very good individual match ups. Hopefully Evans proves me wrong and pulls the upset. Telford's match is a toss up but I still think he'll pull out the victory.
The match that worries me the most is Montell Marion's. If he doesn't wrestle with high energy for the entire 7 minutes he'll most likely lose.

Go HAWKS!

Re: Hammering Nebraska

Would love to see Iowa look impressive as a team tonite. I'm confident they'll come away with the victory, but they need to build some momentum and break the collective will of their opposition.

Go Hawks, Crush the Huskers!!

Re: Hammering Nebraska

125 McD Major 4-0
133 Ramos Dec 7-0
141 Sueflohn Dec 7-3
149 Kelly Dec 10-3
157 Green Dec 10-6
165 Kokesh Dec 10-9
174 Lofthouse Dec 13-9
184 Inhen Dec 13-12
197 Gambrall Dec 16-12
285 Lane Dec 16-15

I would think Ramos has a shot at bonus and I would call 41 and 49 tossups. Lofthouse may get bonus as well but so could Inhen and Green.

By the way next year this team is going to be LOADED. Sueflohn, Green, Kokesh, are all frosh and the only stud theyll lose is Lane.
