Standing up when someone is riding parallel with a trapped wrist tight waist is alot easier on your couch and computer chair than it is on the mat against an eventual all american

So you are saying him not finding a way to get out is acceptable? I wonder if Tom Brands agrees with you.
I know that it was a tough ride Storley had. He should have never let his wrist get trapped it that position.

By the way olives are delicious!

Unfortunatly for Ethen, Evans will most likely move up to 74 next year and DSJ at 65. Really disappointed in Ethen!...never see a Brands bro wrestle like that!

I dont think Evans has beat Ethen yet, however Mike looks more comfortable these days.

What about the TD he gave up with: 10 remaining in the period or giving up 2 instead of 1 in the next?

To be down 1 point late in the match and his head is on the mat (stall call) is unacceptable. Time for a gut check for Ethan. That was disappointing.

your point is valid, but to just lay there looking at the clock ticking down getting stall calls against you is just weak. no way around it.

i have no confidence in him ever winning a big match. it seems he has some mental blocks holding him back.

Re: Ethen Lofthouse: not so impressed

While I am certain that anyone on this forum could have got out from bottom, wouldn't have given up a takedown at the end of a period, would NEVER lose to an unranked opponent, would never get tired in the third period, would always finish every shot we got in on, and would never put their head down on bottom. I also think there's a slight chance that most of us have little to no clue what were talking about and have no place saying what a top ten ranked wrestler like Lofthouse "should" have done or what is "acceptable".... you are a fan with a keyboard and an opinion. Lofthouse and every other kid on the team puts in 20? 30? 40? hours a week working for this team and I promise you he didnt lose that match because he wanted to, Finally, you are correct Tom Brands should find lofthouses performance unacceptable but brands also won 3 nationals titles and Brands is paid well for his oppinion and expertise on the sport. No one, absolutely no one, cares what Ih8olives, WildTurkey or anyone else on this message board thinks about what is impressive, acceptable, or unacceptable as far as ethen lofthouses's wrestling career. We are fans and these are kids who woke up this morning and worked out before going to class and back to practice, I think most of us (myself included) forget that aspect to easily and its unfair and ignorant.

Couldn't have said it better. These two scenarios are what cost Ethan the match. TD with 10 seconds left in the 2nd period was huge!

It was a big meet, some wrestled well others didn't. But please everyone avoid talking about any of it. This wrestling forum just isn't the place to discuss impressive and unimpressive performances out of the team yesterday. This forum is simply a spot for pin2win to link every wrestling article ever written, it is not the place to discuss.

Re: Ethen Lofthouse: not so impressed

My friend and I were watching the dual yesterday at my house. I'm 6'0 180#. My friend is 6'0 200#. After the lofthouse match he ripped lofthouse a new one. I told him to get on the floor and I'd be storley and he could be lofthouse. After a minute I just let him go because he couldn't get away. I was dissapointed with Ethan because I thought he controled the match until he gave up the two instead of one. Always easier said than done.

Re: Ethen Lofthouse: not so impressed

Is it easy to criticize? Sure. Does that make those criticisms invalid. Nope.

I'm not saying that folks don't go a little overboard in their outrage. Even some coaches are known to go a little overboard in their rants. :0
I am reminded that we're talking about Iowa Hawkeye Wrestling, not some other place where the wrestlers lack heart and the fans lack passion.
