Re: B10 conference rankings

I haven't been down on kelleys year until seeing those rankings. 149 is not a loaded weight by any stretch and Kelley isn't cracking the list. the thing is I always see him wrestle hard and battle but lose and I keep thinking 'its alright hes a freshman he'll get it.' but hes got to win some of those close matches.

Re: B10 conference rankings

I think Marion will end up higher than #4. What an exciting weight class at B1Gs. I predict the 2 seniors will beat the freshmen phenoms to meet in the finals.

Re: B10 conference rankings

I hope the seeding's are different then the current rankings for the Big 10 tourney.
If not, MM will have to face Russell in the semis and Ethan would have to wrestle Ed Ruth.
(If Ethan reaches the semis)

I like Ramos current ranking. Would wrestle Futrell in the Semi's and most likely winner of Steiber/Dardanes in the Finals.
Still hopeful GG makes it down to 84 for the tourney.

Re: B10 conference rankings

I feel like Lira going at 97 today tells us that Grant is cutting to 84. At least I hope so.

Andy Hamilton already confirmed that he is going to 184. So it's happening.

Re:B10 conference rankings

He confirmed that he CAN and Brands said as much. I hadn't heard it was a done deal yet. We can either get no pts at 84 and 97 or get some at 84 and give up 97. Why wouldn't we move him? Why didn't Ambrose go at 97 anyway?

No, it is a done deal. He will be going to 184. Ambrose hasn't weighed in at 197 in a couple years.

Re: B10 conference rankings

There's officially one conference dual left (NW-Indiana). Just like previous years, I went through the conference dual schedule and non-dual results to try to get a feel for seeding. Based on results through this weekend, here's my predictions. First the fairly clean weights:

- McD as the 1 seed

- Ramos gets the 2 seed

- Marion is looking at the 3 seed

The rest of the weights are really in flux right now for purposes of conference seeding.

- After Molinaro (and probably Grajales), 149 is an absolute mess. Unless Kelly makes a bunch of noise at National Duals, he's probably going in unseeded.

- Same with 157. No idea where they are going to put St. John. Again, his matches at National Duals are probably going to have an impact on where he ends up. Right now, I'm guessing he's somewhere between #4-6.

- 165 is pretty clear cut with Evans most likely as the 2 seed, but 174-HWT are all a mess.

- Lofthouse is going to be seeded somewhere between #3-5

- No idea where Gambrall ends up (right now I'm guessing #6)

- Lira is going to be unseeded

- Telford is really up in the air (somewhere between #5-7).

In most years, results during the conference season were the primary factor in determining Big 10 seeds. IMO this year they'll look at results outside the conference season to help settle them.
