Its all about the Big Tens and Nationals! Why risk injury for nothing?

I realize the hawkeyes have a chance of getting the "national duals title."
To me that just doesnt seem worth it.

You have to participate. If we don't, Brands/Iowa will catch hell for not going. I like that they're doing it so that Gambrall can actually wrestle a couple matches at 184. Injury is always a risk, but if you start worrying about that you're head isn't in the right place.

Well Iowa didnt wrestle in the duals last year. Penn State is not wrestling this year. I wonder who decides whether or not to go?

Its too late to debate it now. The hawks are wrestling and i will support them 100%! V-tech is a team for the hawks to keep their eyes on. Also if Ward and Spangler wrestle for ISU it might change things a bit..

Yeah, I agree. Is Spangler planning on wrestling? I was thinking he was out. Can't say I follow them too close.

brands has said many times he does not like the format for the national dual specially the date of them but he caught A LOT of flack for not wrestling in them last year. its funny how the forums over at the mat.com aren't losing their minds this year because penn state isn't wrestling in them just goes to show the hate for the hawks!

well honestly I think that they are two different scenarios. People were most upset at Brands for a few different reasons.
A-Because it appeared he was pulling out because they were replacing 8 starters from the year before and knew they wouldn't be as good (which Tom basically said.
B- Because it was in their back yard at the UNI dome.
C- Them pulling out really basically forced the change of format w/ all of the divisions in one location at one time.

None of those things apply to Penn State. Don't get me wrong, i think they should be wrestling in it too, but you really can't compare the two situations in my opinion.

do you quit practicing too. that's where 90% of sports injuries happen. obviously not, that's almost as stupid as the hawks skipping last years duals. and it wasn't just themat that gave the hawks crap, most hawk fans did too. I was more ****** about it than anyone on the mat. I wish psu was there but the schedule came out late and they already had a west coast trip planned.

PSU will not be participating because Cael doesn't like the format. He has different priorities and National Duals doesn't fit into those priorities.

I'm sure you're right but he is definitely not dodging competition with that lineup he has.
