Hawkeyes Not Satisfied with Sweet 16

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Tania Davis celebrated Sunday’s victory against Missouri here at Carver-Hawkeye Arena with her teammates and coach. It advanced them to the Sweet 16.

The senior didn’t linger, however. She went home, sat down and put together a puzzle, something she does to relax and refocus.

After a pair ACL surgeries wiped out the last two seasons, she appreciates the Hawkeyes’ accomplishment. She’s just not satisfied.

“The next day it was right back to work. I watched N.C. State and Kentucky game, so not even 24 hours. At this point, it’s all business for me. I have one thing on my mind and that’s winning a national championship,” Davis said.

The second-seeded Hawkeyes (28-6) play No. 3 N.C. State (27-5) on Saturday (10:30 a.m. CT, ESPN) in Greensboro, N.C.

“It’s fun to be able to celebrate those but at the same time you have to have a short-term memory when it comes to postseason play. We just have to keep that focus going and keep looking forward,” she said.
