Our capable voters took on the task, however. It was tough to argue with their choices.

Skinny: A walk-on linebacker turned into the top tight end among a storied collection. That’s Iowa football. Clark broke out on the ’02 Big Ten Champions being a unanimous all-American, first-team all-Big Ten and the Mackey Award winner as the top player at his position nationally. He hauled in 43 passes for 742 yards and four touchdowns on a loaded offense that hit the sideline early when several games got out of hand.

He claimed the Big Ten Tight End of the Year honor after catching 49 passes for 760 yards and six touchdowns last fall. He was named a consensus all-American.
