Iowa Football’s Jack Koerner Says He’s Going to Be OK

We learned Saturday that Iowa football’s Jack Koerner was involved in a watercraft accident on a Missouri lake. Sunday morning, the starting free safety posted an update on social media.

Koerner was listed in serious condition Friday night before being taken to the hospital after the accident on the Lake of the Ozarks. His former West Des Moines Dowling Catholic teammate, Cole Coffin, was airlifted to a different facility.

Koerner and Coffin, both 21, were occupants on a Sea-Doo jet ski, according to a report. That watercraft collided with a boat. The jet ski was totaled and the boat sustained minor damage.

Koerner (6-0, 208) walked on at Iowa before earning a scholarship for the 2020 spring semester. The two-time academic all-Big Ten selection started 11 games for a 10-3 Hawkeye team, ranking second on the team with 81 total tackles and leading the squad with 49 solo stops.
