IOWA CITY, Iowa – For the third game in a row, Iowa was positioned to win a game in the closing second. Unlike the first two times, it didn’t happen Tuesday night here at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Maryland tipped in a missed shot with seven seconds remaining for the difference in a 66-65 victory. The Hawkeyes missed a pair of shots that could have won it before the final buzzer.
