The on-gain, off-again relationship between Iowa and Jordan Oladokun is on again. Both parties seem determined to keep it that way.

The Class of 2021 Tampa (FL) Gaither High defensive back verbally re-committed to the Hawkeyes on Sunday. He had de-committed from them on May 8 after first pledging to them on April 14.

On May 24, Oladokun listed his Top 4 schools. Iowa was joined by Louisville, Pittsburgh and Kansas State. He reported 32 scholarship offers overall, including Penn State, Iowa State and Virginia Tech.

HN first interviewed Oladokun back in early April to ask about his relationship with the Hawkeyes.

“I love how Iowa runs their program. They play as a family. They also have a great DB coach and defensive coordinator (Phil Parker), who produces great DBs. I talk to coach (Derrick) Foster the most. Me and him have a great relationship. It’s great because it’s more than just football. We talk about life and everything, so it’s good,” he told HN then.

Rivals and 247 rank Oladokun as a three-star recruit. The former sees him as the 44th best cornerback nationally in the ’21 class and rates him as the No. 89 player overall in Florida, while the latter tabs him at No. 106 for his position in the cycle and the No. 144 player overall in his state.

Oladokun (6-0, 180) has not visited Iowa’s campus. He intended to be here this month for an official visit but the recruiting dead period brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic prohibited that trip.

Quarterback Chris Oladokun, Jordan’s older brother, began his career at South Florida before transferring to Samford. Their father, Henry, played basketball at Howard University.

Here’s a look at Oladokun’s junior highlights:

Keith Duncan has fun with the media interviews, but the Iowa kicker has learned plenty of humility throughout his career. Go back to the 2017 season, when he was a sophomore coming off a season in which he was the Hawkeyes’ primary kicker, delivering a game-winning field goal to defeat Michigan on a Saturday night…
