Some chatter out there on the interwebs that the San Francisco 49ers will be one of the teams front and center next week to take in Iowa’s second pro day, namely to look at Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi.

Stanzi had a somewhat private meeting with New England Patriots reps last week, and Kirk Ferentz’s son Brian is their tight ends coach…plus Ferentz has strong ties to Pats coach Bill Belichick.

The linked item notes that San Fran has the 7th pick of the draft, but also has picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. If Blaine Gabbert and Cam Newton are off the board when the 49ers come up at pick seven, Stanzi might be there for them at pick #45.
