B1G Rankings: Week Two

September 8, 2019

Written by Jon Miller

Here is a link to where things stacked up in Week One.

1. Ohio State: Buckeyes cruise against Cincy 42-0, a Cincy team that beat UCLA the week before…and UCLA…yikes.
2. Wisconsin: The Badgers sliced up Central Michigan as if they were playing a low-level FCS team. Also, that’s back to back shutouts to open the year.
3. Michigan State: Offensive explosion against a salty Western Michigan team. 582 yards, Lewerke looked good, Collins ran for 192. Signs of life
4. Iowa: Hawkeyes very impressive in Big Ten opener…one of the most dominant defensive games in the Ferentz era
5. Penn State: Things were dicey in the first half, but PSU rallied in second. Ran just 46 plays and lack sustained rushing attack
6. Michigan: I gave them a pass week one, but they have some serious offensive questions after the game against Army.
7. Maryland: The Terps may just be for real after a complete dismantling of Syracuse, and they are now ranked in the AP Poll!
8. Minnesota: Rusty in week one, and needed overtime to beat Fresno on the road in Week Two, but they are…rowing the boat.
9. Northwestern: Bye
10. Nebraska: Blew a 17-0 halftime lead to lose in Overtime. Frost is 5-9 as Nebraska’s head coach
11. Illinois: First non-conference road win in 11 years!
12. Purdue: Solid bounce back performance over Illinois. They won’t run the ball this year, but Rondale Moore may win the Heisman
13. Indiana: Threw for 441 yards and held Eastern Illinois to 64 passing and 52 rushing.
14. Rutgers: They host Liberty on 10/26, which might be their next and last win of the year.
