Derrell Johnson-Koulianos is a one of a kind…he has the potential to be one of the most dynamic offensive players in history and if he stays healthy this year, he should hold most of the significant receiving records. Not bad for a player that has yet to emerge into a full time starter, emphasis on YET.

He’s also one of the most engaging student athletes I have been around. Don’t be fooled by some of the things he says here, such as his comments to my question if he and his fellow receivers think about leaving a mark at Iowa, where he answers, ‘Daily. Sometimes hourly.’ He delivers the answer with a straight face, but he’s just having fun. His answer to where ‘DJK’ came from was equally playful. Some folks, perhaps even his head coach, can misconstrue his playfulness. I find it to be refreshing and fun. I hope you will, too.
