IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team found out Sunday that it would be heading to New York City for the Pinstripe Bowl. The game will be played at 4:15 p.m. CT on Dec. 27.
The Hawkeyes (7-5) will be playing in a bowl for the 15th time in the 19 seasons with coach Kirk Ferentz at the helm. It’s their fifth trip in a row to the postseason.
Iowa will be trying to win its first bowl game since defeating Missouri in the Insight Bowl following the 2010 season. It’s lost five bowl games in a row. The average margin of defeat in the last three bowls has been 24.3 points.
The Eagles of the ACC finished at 7-5 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The beat Florida State, 35-3, and Louisville, 45-42.

It will be the first meeting ever between the Hawkeyes and Boston College. Former Iowa assistant Jim Reid is the defensive coordinator for the Eagles.
BC freshman running back A.J. Dillon, who was at one time committed to Michigan and held an offer from the Hawkeyes, rushed for 1,432 yards (5.3 per carry) and 13 touchdowns. He ranks 12th nationally in rushing yards
