For the second year in a row, Iowa has landed a player from the vaunted DeMatha Catholic football program in Maryland.

Jordan Lomax made it ‘official’ on Monday, announcing his verbal commitment to Iowa. He can make it ‘OFFICIAL’ on Wednesday when he signs his binding letter of intent.

Lomax told Rob Howe of HawkeyeInsider.com that he carries a 4.0 GPA and intends to study law or physiology at Iowa. He is also the current teammate of OL Cyrus Kouandjo and DL Darian Cooper, players that visited the Iowa campus the weekend of January 21st and are considering the Hawkeyes among their final schools.

Iowa running back Marcus Coker is a former DeMatha teammate of the trio listed above.

Lomax originally committed to Virginia, and had offers from Pitt, New Mexico, Louisville and Maryland. The 5-10, 185-pounder will likely play corner at the college level.
