IOWA CITY, Iowa – Coach Kirk Ferentz kicked off spring football with a press conference Monday here at the performance center. The Hawkeyes were scheduled to begin practices on Wednesday.

Ferentz talked about, among other things, overall feelings heading into the spring, position battles, including receiver and the emergence of walk-on wideout Nick Easley.
