HN TV: Seth Wallace Discusses Linebackers, Defensive Changes

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa linebacker coach Seth Wallace met with the media Tuesday afternoon here at the football performance center. The assistant dropped some knowledge on everyone.

Wallace confirmed that the program calls the hybrid safety-linebacker position played last season by Amani Hooker the “Cash,” not the “Star.” The latter has been used for the extra defensive back when the go nickel.

He also revealed that Amani Jones, who played linebacker the last three seasons, was lining up at defensive end this spring. The coaches saw it as a 3-4 “look”, where Jones can come off the edge or drop into the flat.
