We had a big write up Monday evening on the revelation that North Dakota State University Offensive Coordinator Tim Polasek was going to join the Iowa coaching staff. You can read that item here, which also includes speculation on an additional hire the Hawkeyes may be making very soon.
On Tuesday morning, Andy Fales of WHOTV & KXNO reported that Polasek will be Iowa’s Offensive Line Coach:

Chad Leistikow of The Des Moines Register later confirmed this as well
As mentioned in the second sentence, it appears Iowa may have another coach in mind in the form of Northern Illinois Running Backs coach Kelton Copeland, who recently followed several Iowa Hawkeye related twitter accounts:

If the reports of Polasek to Offensive Line Coach proves accurate, Copeland may then slide into the Running Backs position at Iowa, or the vacant Wide Receiver position. If its the latter…
So w/ Tim Polasek taking OL, that probably means Brian Ferentz handles RB. That leaves WR. Signs pointing to NIU's Kelton Copeland for that.

Copeland and Polasek coached together at Northern Illinois in 2013.
One final thought here, from one of my followers on twitter:

@hawkeyenation like it. Is that a lateral move and or is this setting the table for OC for Brian in 3-5 years?

I don’t think you have to be a super sleuth to assume that the goal inside the walls of Ft Kinnick is for Brian Ferentz to become Iowa’s next head coach…or at least, I think that would be the hope of both Brian and Kirk Ferentz. Should Iowa have a good deal of success over the next few years and should Brian attain that position, Polasek would certainly be well positioned to become Iowa’s future Offensive Coordinator.
