Marion native, Grant Gibbs, gets 6th year of eligibility at Creighton.
He'll be 25 the summer after his final season. Jess Settles approves.

Gibbs and Marble will end their careers next spring (barring an injury to Devyn).

Grant is almost 3 years old than Devyn. What's my point? Nothing. Just thought I'd mention that.

Pretty cool that the NCAA did that.

Good for Gibbs and CU. Jared Reiner got so screwed when he was denied a 5th year.

Radio just said that McDermott is going to be a walk-on as Gibbs is #13 scholarship.

    best walk-on ever?

McDermott's got to be up there, but my vote (if we don't have to stick to bball) goes to Heisman winner Ricky Williams. Williams was a "walk-on" for the Texas football team in the late-'90's. He had been drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and they paid him a signing bonus plus all of his tuition.

Good for him. Hope he has a good year.

    IIRC, he's done this before.

Once again, the NCAA works in mysterious ways.

Did he have to produce a dieing parent? That usually makes a difference to the NCAA.
