IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Big Ten announced this week that it would be reinstating its fall football season. On Saturday, the conference released a revised schedule.

Here’s what it looks like for Iowa:

at Purdue, Oct. 24

The Hawkeyes get the campaign underway in West Lafayette. Purdue is coming off a 4-8 season during which it fell, 26-20, at Kinnick Stadium. The Boilermakers would benefit from better health and the return of star receiver Rondale Moore, who missed last season with an injury and opted out of ’20 when the Big Ten originally postponed fall football in early August.

Week 2 brings Northwestern and old nemesis Pat Fitzgerald to Iowa City for a spooky Halloween matchup. The Wildcats line up with a competent quarterback in Indiana grad transfer Peyton Ramsey, something they did not have last fall when Iowa dominated them, 20-0, in Evanston.

The Hawkeyes stay home for their next contest, welcoming Michigan State and new head coach Mel Tucker, who comes over from Colorado. West Des Moines Valley graduate Rocky Lombardi could be calling signals behind center for the Spartans.

Iowa then heads into its toughest stretch, at least on paper. It travels to rival Minnesota for the annual Battle for Floyd of Rosedale on Nov. 14. The Golden Gophers are coming off an 11-2 season with all-Big Ten quarterback Tanner Morgan back at the controls.

Penn State then plays host to the Hawkeyes in Week 5. The visitors will be looking to halt a six-game skid in the series following last year’s 17-12 setback at Kinnick.

Nebraska comes to Iowa City the weekend of Nov. 28. The game is scheduled for Saturday after Thanksgiving but could be moved to the traditional Black Friday spot at a later date, according to the Iowa Sports Information Department.

The Hawkeyes are off to Illinois in Week 7. They’ve won six in a row in this series and 11 of the last 12 meetings.

Week 8 could arrive with the Big Ten West Division on the line. Defending division champion Wisconsin will be at Kinnick having claimed four wins in a row in this rivalry and seven of the last eight matchups.
