 Iowa City, Iowa - Iowa basketball secured a much-needed win Wednesday night, knocking off visiting Rutgers, 79-66. The Hawkeyes halted a two-game losing streak and won for just the second time in their last six contests. 

Joe Wieskamp led the way for the winners with a game-high 26 points and 20 rebounds. The junior from Muscatine shot 9 of 14 from the floor, including 5 of 7 from three-point range. Luka Garza added 22 points and 10 boards for Iowa, while teammate Jordan Bohannon chipped in with 12 points and seven assists. 

After the game, Hawkeye coach Fran McCaffery and his players met with the media.
