INDIANAPOLIS - Iowa’s depth chart, released Thursday, shows plenty of youth.
 
Two true freshmen are on two-deeps — Keagan Johnson is No. 2 at one of the two wide receiver spots, while Connor Colby was No. 2 at right tackle.
 
The two-deeps also include six redshirt freshmen. Yahya Black is No. 1 at right defensive tackle. Lukas Van Ness (left defensive tackle), Deontae Craig (right defensive end), Luke Lachey (tight end), Mason Richman (left tackle) and Tyler Elsbury (left guard) are listed as backups.
 
Iowa’s offensive line has just one senior listed — Kyler Schott at right guard. The other No. 1s are junior Jack Plumb (left tackle), junior Cody Ince (left guard), junior Tyler Linderbaum (center) and sophomore Nick DeJong (right tackle).
 
The backups are just as young — Richman, Elsbury, junior center Matt Fagan, Colby, and sophomore right guard Justin Britt.
 
The defensive line is also young. Junior left end John Waggoner, junior left tackle Noah Shannon, Black and and senior Zach VanValkenburg are No. 1s. Junior left end Joe Evans, Van Ness, sophomore right tackle Logan Lee and Craig are No. 2s.
 
Among the rest of the depth chart:
 
• Spencer Petras and Alex Padilla are 1-2 at quarterback. Petras started all eight games for the Hawkeyes last season.
 
• Tyrone Tracy and Nico Ragaini are No. 1s at wide receiver, with Johnson and senior Charlie Jones at No. 2.
 
• Sam LaPorta is No. 1 at tight end.
 
• Tyler Goodson and Ivory Kelly-Martin are 1-2 at running back. Monte Pottebaum is No. 1 at fullback.
 
• Caleb Shudak is listed as the only kicker. Tory Taylor is listed as the only punter.
 
• Dane Belton is No. 1 at the Cash/LEO spot, with Jestin Jacobs at No. 2. Seth Benson and Jack Campbell are No. 1 at the other linebacker spots. Mike Timm and Jay Higgins are the backups.
 
• The secondary has Matt Hankins and Riley Moss at No. 1 at the cornerback spots. Strong safety Kaevon Merriweather and free safety Jack Koerner are also No. 1s. Sophomore left cornerback Jermari Harris, sophomore Sebastian Castro, free safety Quinn Schulte and junior right cornerback Terry Roberts are No. 2s.
