2022 Point Guard Dasonte Bowen

An official visit to Iowa City this past weekend was all Dasonte Bowen needed in confirming his affinity for Iowa Basketball. On Wednesday, the Class of 2022 point committed to the Hawkeyes.

HN published a story about Bowen's stop in Iowa City on Tuesday night.

"The coaches and players definitely treated me like family. They were very welcoming," he said.

Bowen was scheduled to officially with Northwestern and Maryland this month. As of Tuesday night, that was still the plan. Wednesday, the Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy point guard decided it wasn't necessary. He was comfortable with the Hawkeyes.

Bowen (6-3, 165) also reported scholarship offers from Miami, Boston College, Rutgers, Penn State, Georgetown, Seton Hall, USC, Virginia Tech and others have reportedly offered. Iowa identified his talents early, offered in March 0f 2019 and built a strong relationship.

247Sports ranks Bowen as a four-star, the No. 17 point guard and the No. 87 player overall nationally regardless of position in the 2022 Class. Rivals sees him as a three-star and the No. 37 player at his position for the cycle.
