Iowa added known verbal commitment No. 21 Wednesday night when Connecticut receiver Diante Vines announced he was pledging to the Hawkeyes.

“Iowa just felt right for me,” Vines told HN. “After the visit and gaining a sense of what the coaches and players were about, it fit the image I thought about when thinking about college.

“Just seeing how real the coaches truly were and how I could best develop in Iowa ultimately was the deciding factor. It was a choice I felt put me in the best spot to have me final dream come true (NFL) and also where I could study my major.”

Vines officially visited Iowa during the weekend of June 23. He talked with HN about the stop.
