IOWA CITY, Iowa – Blink and you could miss something in recruiting during this time of year. Open evaluation periods in football and basketball are leading to Iowa handing out scholarship offers.

We’re only halfway through the work week, and plenty of opportunities have gone out. They followed a flurry last week.

Here’s a look:

-On the football side, the Hawkeyes are making a push at receiver. Last week, they offered Florida’s Kaleb Long, who spoke with HN about it. They came back with an offer for Peoria’s Kaevion Mack on Monday and fellow Illinois product AJ Lawson on Tuesday. They jumped back into the Sunshine State on Wednesday with offers for Quavon Matthews and Ajou Ajou.

-Iowa is in the running for top tight ends Theo Johnson, Jonathan Odom and Caleb Fauria, but it was determined to not wait around. It jumped in with Ohio’s Luke Lachey on Wednesday.
