Hawkeyes Add Murray Twins to ’20 Recruiting Class

Keegan and Kris Murray, the twin sons of former Hawkeye Kenyon Murray, announced their commitment to Iowa on Monday via social media. They officially visited campus during the weekend.

The Murrays are about 6-8 and 210 pounds. They’re taking a post-graduate year at DME Academy in Dayton Beach, Fla. following completing 12th grade at Cedar Rapids Prairie High in the spring.

Kenyon Murray played for the Hawkeyes from 1992-96 after being named a McDonald’s all-American at Battle Creek (MI) Central High. He finished his Iowa career with more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 steals.

In addition to Iowa, Keegan and Kris Murray report offers from Western Illinois. They do not have a ranking from Rivals or 247 as of this stories publishing.

Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery became familiar with the Murrays when they competed against his sons, Connor and Patrick, who played for Iowa City West. The Murrays led Prairie to a 17-4 record last season combining to average 38.7 points per game.

The Murrays’ commitment brought the Hawkeye ’20 class to four known pledges. They joined guard Ahron Ulis and Tony Perkins.
