Christian Fitzpatrick began spring practice seeking to raise his recruiting profile.

Missioned accomplished.

The Waterford (MI) Mott High receiver has watched his stock shoot up and more schools are showing interest. This month, he has added scholarship offers from Iowa, Buffalo Penn State and Washington State.

“I believe that the (Iowa) wide receiver coach (Kelton Copeland) has been evaluating me for a couple months. He came to our school and saw our workouts and offered me after seeing me workout (on May 13),” Fitzpatrick told HN.

The Hawkeyes sit well with him after extending the opportunity.

“Receiving an offer from Iowa was pretty cool considering how consistent they have been in the Big Ten. Iowa is a great program. My plans are to visit Iowa this summer,” he said.

Louisville and West Virginia offered Fitzpatrick earlier this year. He has visited both schools multiple times. He stopped at Penn State last week.

Fitzpatrick (6-4, 210) looks forward to seeing Iowa up close.

“I want to get to know the offensive coaching staff and get a feel for the campus and the culture of the program,” he said.

Miami (FL), Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina and Pitt are the programs that are showing Fitzpatrick the most interest but have yet to offer. He’s not rushing the recruiting process but also doesn’t see it dragging out.

“I don’t want to wait too long. It may come this summer and no later than the third game of the season,” he said.

Academics are important in Fitzpatrick’s decision. He’s deciding between majoring in Business or Mechanical Engineering.

Rivals and 247 see Fitzpatrick as a three-star recruit. The former lists him as the No. 70 receiver nationally in the 2020 class. The latter puts him at No. 143.
